New Year, New You
Hi Friends!
As we round out the first month in 2021, how is the “new year, new you” going?
Let’s recap, the new year may have brought on new diets, new meal planning, and new habits; however, you are the same YOU! Be proud of that!
To continue on the new year, new you vibes let us revisit the new year, new diet. Making small changes to your diet may bring on new adventures to a relationship with food. This can be scary and take time. We can all agree January seems like the longest month ever; yet, it has nothing on how long this year may feel (if 2020 is any indication, yikes!). Remember, be patient with yourself– food isn’t the enemy, you should be happy at meal time, not stressed out, and there isn’t any diet magic. Nurture your relationship with food and I am willing to bet you will make HUGE progress this year!
Next on the recap, did you try to meal plan yet? I know, I know, the first time takes time! Shoot you may forget your list, something I often do, but at least you tried! It gets easier, I promise! You will start to get the flow of it and even start to look forward to it. Some of you may think, it is just not my thang and that’s okay, hopefully, this process just make the whole thang more efficient and gets you out of the store faster! Don’t forget the action items: pick some tasty recipes for your list, grocery shop, crush the prep work and get cooking!
Lastly, are you looking to change your habits to keep you progressing through the whole year? I do really recommend reflecting on the current 1-2 habits you are ready to tackle. You may be thinking you want to tackle more habits but don’t go big in this space just yet. Going global on every habit can quickly become overwhelming! The pathway to altering a couple habits starts with recognizing your cues that spark from cravings, reflect on your response or routine that leads to the reward you are seeking. If you want a new reward, you may need to switch up your response or routines (this is the hard part). You can do it!
I wanted to provide a recap because we can start off strong and get lost in the mix when reality of “all the things” we need to do in our daily lives starts to overpower the energy we had at the beginning of the month! I am a dreamer so you all fully have my support in the quest to become the best version of yourself.
